Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all transport services provided by AAA Couriers (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By placing a booking, the Customer (“you”) confirms acceptance of the following terms and conditions

1. Definitions

“Customer” means the person or business requesting the service.

“Consignment” means any items transported under one booking.

“Goods” means the items handed to AAA Couriers for collection, carriage or delivery.

“The Company” means AAA Couriers.

2. General Conditions

• We are not a common carrier and may refuse any consignment at our discretion.
• All bookings are accepted based on the information you provide.
• You are responsible for ensuring goods are safe, suitable and correctly packaged.
• These Terms override any other terms unless agreed in writing.
• We may subcontract work to trusted professional drivers.
• We reserve the right to amend or update these Terms at any time, and the version published on our website will apply to all bookings.

3. Goods Not Accepted

The Company does not carry:

• Cash, jewellery, precious metals, watches
• Glass, ceramics and other inherently fragile items unless agreed in writing; perishable food
• Weapons, ammunition, controlled drugs
• Living creatures, human or animal remains
• Dangerous, hazardous or temperature-controlled goods
• Items prohibited by law

If such goods are handed over without disclosure, the Company accepts no liability whatsoever and may refuse carriage immediately.

4. Loading & Unloading

AAA Couriers provides driver-only service unless otherwise agreed.

The Customer must ensure:

• Adequate manpower is available for heavy, large or awkward items
• Any required loading equipment is provided on site
• Goods are safe, secure and accessible for loading

If a driver assists beyond standard expectations, it is strictly at your own risk. You indemnify AAA Couriers against any loss, injury or claim resulting from such assistance.

If adequate assistance is not available, we may decline the collection; the job remains partially chargeable.

All heavy, awkward, oversized or machinery-type items must have suitable lifting equipment or additional manpower provided by the Customer.

5. Transit & Undelivered Goods

Transit begins when the Company or its appointed driver takes possession of the consignment and ends upon delivery, attempted delivery, or after 48 hours if held awaiting instructions.

Undeliverable Goods

• If delivery cannot be made due to incorrect information, no access, or unsafe conditions, the job is chargeable.
• Redelivery or return is a separate charge.
• We will make reasonable attempts to contact the Customer before returning.
• Goods unclaimed after 7 days may be disposed of or sold to recover costs.

6. Right to Hold or Dispose of Goods

The Company may retain goods until all charges are paid.

If payment remains outstanding after notice, goods may be sold or disposed of, with proceeds applied against sums owed.

Storage or holding charges may apply if goods are retained for more than 48 hours.

7. Proof of Delivery

A signed delivery note or electronic signature is treated as conclusive evidence of delivery.

Photographic evidence may be taken at our discretion but is not guaranteed.

8. Payment & Charges

Payment is due immediately unless you hold a credit account.

Quotes are based on:

• The route selected by us
• The information provided at booking

Additional charges may apply for:

• Waiting time
• Extra stops
• Re-delivery
• Incorrect addresses
• Out-of-hours collections
• Oversized or overweight items

Credit Accounts:

Credit accounts are invoiced weekly and payable within 30 days. 

All charges are payable by the Customer unless otherwise agreed.

Invoices must be settled within the stated terms. Late payments may incur statutory interest and administrative fees.

If payment is late:

• Statutory interest may be charged
• Reasonable recovery costs may be added
• Credit terms may be suspended
• All outstanding invoices become immediately due

Credit terms may be withdrawn at any time if payments become overdue.

Prices may be adjusted with 7 days’ notice to reflect changes in operational costs (including fuel and congestion charges). All prices are subject to VAT.

9.Waiting Time & Additional Costs

A standard free loading and unloading, waiting period of 10–15 minutes is included with every booking.

Waiting time beyond 20 minutes may be chargeable at £30 per hour, calculated in increments.

Additional labour requirements or complex loading/unloading may incur supplementary charges.

Where applicable, road tolls, bridge tolls, ferry fees, LEZ/ULEZ charges, congestion charges, parking fees, or any mandatory site-access costs may also be added to the final cost.

10. Missed Collections / Failed Deliveries

If collection or delivery cannot be completed due to:

• Incorrect addresses
• No access
• No one present
• Unsafe or unsuitable goods

A call-out charge or full job fee may apply.

11. Delays & Events Outside Our Control

We strive to deliver on time; however, we are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

• Road closures, accidents, severe traffic or weather
• Mechanical breakdowns
• Police, security or customs checks
• Industrial action
• Force majeure events

We will always take reasonable steps to minimise delay and keep the Customer informed.

12. Liability & Insurance

AAA Couriers operates through a network of professional, fully insured self-employed drivers. Each driver must maintain valid Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance and Public Liability insurance as part of our onboarding requirements.

By using our services, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Insurance cover is held by the allocated self-employed driver, not AAA Couriers as a separate policyholder.
• Any liability for loss or damage to a consignment is subject strictly to the terms, conditions and limits of the driver’s own insurance policy.
• All consignments must be properly packaged, labelled and secured by the Customer before collection.
• Full and accurate information must be provided at the time of booking, including the nature, weight, value and handling requirements of the goods.

AAA Couriers shall not be liable for:

• Consequential, indirect or economic loss, including (but not limited to) loss of profit, loss of production, business interruption or loss of opportunity.
• Damage or loss arising from insufficient, unsuitable or inadequate packaging.
• Any delay or failure caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including traffic, breakdowns, weather conditions, access restrictions or unforeseen operational issues.

For high-value or sensitive consignments, the Customer must declare the value prior to booking so that appropriate insurance levels can be confirmed with the assigned driver. Failure to declare such value may limit or invalidate insurance cover.

13. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must:

• Provide accurate booking information
• Ensure goods are packaged securely
• Ensure access for collection and delivery
• Notify us immediately of any changes to the job
• Declare high-value or sensitive items prior to transport
• Advise us of any restrictions (weight limits, site rules, security procedures)

14. Claims

Claims for loss or damage must be:

1. Reported within 24 hours of delivery or expected delivery
2. Confirmed in writing within 7 days
3. Supported with photographic evidence and original packaging retained for inspection

Claims outside these timeframes cannot be accepted.

Claims will not exceed the Company’s standard liability limits unless enhanced cover has been agreed in writing.

15. Customer Indemnity

The Customer agrees to indemnify AAA Couriers against all costs, claims or losses arising from:

• Dangerous or prohibited goods
• Incorrect instructions or information
• Inadequate packaging
• Delays caused by lack of loading/unloading assistance
• Legal penalties resulting from Customer breaches

16. Data Protection & Privacy

We handle personal data according to our GDPR-compliant Privacy Notice.

Data is used only to process bookings and deliver services.

17. Governing Law

These Conditions are governed by English law, and any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts of England & Wales.
